Senior Engineer with Client-Side focus

About us

We transform expense reporting into a humane task. As a result we have Klarna, OKQ8, Assa Abloy, Vitamin Well, Red Bull, Grant Thornton, Lyko (among others) on our list of happy customers.

Using machine learning, an easy-to-understand interface, and clever automation, we improve ways to cut down time spent in our system, saving valuable hours for employees around the world (so they can focus on their actual work).

We are now looking for someone who finds this ambition as meaningful as we do and would enjoy optimizing and driving the development in the client-side of our system.

Skovik's system is used by companies across Europe, and your work will directly impact a hundred thousand employees.

As a member of a capable tech team, you will be surrounded by some great people to collaborate with and bounce ideas off. There are many interesting engineering challenges to dig into, and we'd be thrilled to have you onboard.

The technology we use

The front-end is a single-page app built with Ember.js. Our back-end runs on Ruby on Rails and a bit of Python. We leverage tools such as Docker, Git, Redis, MongoDB, Capacitor, PostgreSQL, Puma, Sidekiq, Consul, ElasticSearch, Grafana, and Loki to power our platform.

Main responsibilities

You will mainly focus on all client-side related code and tech. Both improving what we currently have as well as planning ahead how to deliver scalable code for the future. We also look forward to take part of your knowledge as you will mentor our junior developers via code reviews and dialogue.

We are a light but efficient team of engineers where everyone effortlessly move between different domains which makes us efficient. You should also enjoy digging into other areas as well from time to time.

We are looking for someone who identifiers as an engineer rather than a pure frontend developer. You should be pragmatic in your approach to tools and methods, prioritizing outcomes over trends.

Collaboration and effective communication are essential as you will work closely with others as well as guide and mentor. You take pride in building for scalability and longevity. You are able to weigh business perspective into your reasoning and choices. You are content with focusing mostly on technical aspects of the system rather than going far into UI/UX-refinements.

Technical skill requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of JavaScript.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of client-side devices.

  • Good understanding of at least one front-end framework, such as Ember, React, Angular, Vue or similar.

  • Proficiency in setting up and maintaining infrastructures for the front-end (refer to our technology stack for reference).

Please feel free to reach out to us today for an initial call if this seems interesting to you.

We look forward to hearing from you!
