Privacy policy
At Skovik we care about your personal data and how it is used and shared. We strive to only store the information needed to provide our service, we store it securely and for third-party services we ensure they follow privacy best-practices.
Document scope
This privacy policy covers our treatment of personally identifiable information that we gather when you are using our website or services.
Information collection, use and sharing
We do not collect or store any personal information about you, except what you (or your computer) provide when using our website, app or when contacting us (for example via a phone call).
A. Information you provide us
We receive and store the information you knowingly provide to us. For example, we collect your name, email address and browser information when you sign up for an account.
Since Skovik is a tool for expense reports, mileage and per diems, we store that information when it's sent to us. More specifically, we'll save the receipt images and mileage information that you record in the Skovik app, or on the Skovik website.
B. Information collected automatically
When you interact with our services, we automatically receive and record the information that is sent to us. This data is sent by your browser and includes things such as your IP-address, your browser language and which part of our service you requested. This information helps us understand how often people use our service, to analyse trends, administer our systems and to know which features are most popular. It also helps us identify bugs and fix problems in the system, as well as make Skovik faster and easier to use.
We use browser storage, such as local storage, to store data and preferences. For example, we store your language settings and time-zone in browser storage. You can change the preferences on your browser or mobile phone to prevent or limit what information your device will store or send, but this may prevent you from taking advantage of some features.
We use some third-party tools to count website visitors, analyse how the product is used and for advertisements. These tools use cookies and web beacons to track activity on our website and others, to provide targeted advertising.
C. Cookies, behavior and analytical data
By accepting cookies on Skovik website, you allow us to collect data related to your site behavior and analytics for marketing purposes. This helps us tailor our content and ads to better match your interests.
Note on Login When you log into our system, we recognize you as our customer. Therefore, we do not collect data for marketing purpose during your logged-in sessions.
D. E-mail and other communications
We may contact you by email, phone or other means. For example, we may contact you to ask if you need help or have questions about the service. We also send automated messages, for example to reset a forgotten password or to let you know that a report is awaiting your approval. Most of these can be turned off in the application settings, but some will always be sent (for example password recovery emails).
Where information is stored
Our servers are located in the European Union, in Ireland and Germany. Your data is stored in accordance with local and EU-wide privacy laws (GDPR).
How we may share information
Sometimes we collaborate with other companies to provide a great service. For example, we use a third-party to send mobile push notifications. As a consequence we share a push-address with them, so they can deliver the push message to your phone. Here follows a description of how we share information with third parties.
A. Trusted third parties
We employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and need to share your information with them to provide the services to you. This includes third party companies and individuals employed by us to facilitate our services, for example push-services, web analytics and systems monitoring.
B. Business transfers
We may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of transactions, customer information is typically one of the business assets that is transferred. This would also be the case if we are acquired or go through some other change of control. We will prominently notify our customers of any such change.
C. Protection of Skovik and others
We may access, preserve and disclose information to comply with the law, or in response to a government request within our jurisdiction. We may also do this to apply our terms of use, to protect our company, customers or employees. This includes exchanging information with other companies for fraud protection.
D. With your consent
Except as described above you will be notified when your personal information may be shared with third parties and will be able to prevent the sharing of this information.
Information security
Your account is protected by a password you choose. It is essential that you choose a strong password and your password is not reused across multiple services. A password manager is often helpful. You must prevent unauthorised access to your account by protecting your password, and by making sure that your devices are not used by people who should not have access to them.
We go to great lengths to keep your information secure. All communication with Skovik is encrypted and we store data redundantly, to ensure nothing is lost. Systems are monitored continuously, for increased security.
Testimonials
We post customer testimonials, comments and reviews on our website. They may contain information about a person. We do obtain the customer’s consent via email before posting testimonials with attribution. To request removal of your personal information from testimonials or comments, please contact us.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our privacy policies, please send us a detailed email. We will make every effort to answer your question.
