We spoke with Payroll Manager Patricia Sjölund and Treasury Manager Erik Hiller on what makes Skovik the right fit for their growing organisation, and what matters to them as a global player.

Focused on growth

Patricia’s first encounter with Skovik was during its early days, and the journey it’s taken since then has impressed her:

“What stands out to me is that the growth hasn’t just been about expansion for the sake of it, it’s clearly been driven by adapting to customer needs. That’s impressive”.

Patricia exemplifies this customer-driven approach by pointing to the development of corporate card functionality. She recalls how Skovik gathered input on company needs and not much later delivered a working solution that runs smoothly, something she sees as a clear sign of Skovik’s ability to listen, adapt, and execute effectively.

She explains why this is important to her:

“We’re growing, our needs are changing, and with that, we need our vendors to keep up and to show interest and a willingness to grow as well. And that’s exactly what I’ve seen from you. You really want to understand our needs and do everything you can to support us”.

Patricia elaborates:

“Last year, we worked on onboarding all our countries into Skovik and it was no problem at all. A major strength of the system is that there are built-in tax frameworks that make it really easy to adapt the system to local regulations. That makes it very easy to expand in Skovik”.

Global compliance made easy

How well equipped Skovik is to help with global tax compliance is something that stands out to Patricia:

“I would really like to highlight how easy it is to stay compliant in all our countries. As an international company, that’s a real challenge. We need to take into account different regulations and ongoing updates to them, which can come… Well, whenever. But it feels like Skovik is on top of it”.

She expands on this:

“If I get notified about changes related to taxation, deductibility or similar matters and check in with Skovik to ask: ‘Will this be updated, will it work the way it needs to?’, you already know about it and have a solution for it. That’s incredibly valuable”.

“We take our responsibilities and reporting seriously. It’s crucial for us to ensure that everything is processed correctly, whether it’s payroll related or tied to tax filings and so on. I’d say that’s the single most important requirement we have for a system like this”.

She continues:

“Then there are nice-to-haves. We absolutely save time, things are more efficient, things look cleaner and it’s easier to keep track of things and so on. Those are great add-ons, but they are not necessarily our primary requirement”.

A strong partnership

It’s not just the system that’s of value to Erik and Patricia, so is the customer success team. They helped Karo Healthcare get started with Skovik and have remained by their side throughout their day-to-day usage of the system.

They’ve been very quick and helpful. I also appreciate that they’ve been straightforward with us. Sometimes we’ve wanted to set things up one way, but they’ve explained why there are better ways of doing it. That’s helped us avoid administrative monsters. So the feedback from the support has been great, it’s a good sounding board, says Erik.

Patricia agrees: They’re real stars.

The customer success team has also helped Karo Healthcare set up the system to their ideal way of working. This includes warnings and blockings that remind end-users and reviewers of company policy:

For the employee, it’s helpful to immediately see on screen if something’s wrong while registering a receipt. But each step is intuitive, the end-users get the information, and so do the reviewers. It shows them that they can rely on Skovik, Patricia says.

She goes on: If there’s an issue, it’ll be flagged. I think that builds real trust, both among employees and managers. The system is there to help, not to be an administrative burden.

When asked if they would recommend us, Patricia and Erik agree that they would:

“Yes, definitely. Of course needs can vary depending on the type of business, some might have even more complex requirements than we do for example. But I’d still feel comfortable saying: ‘Talk to Skovik. I think they’d have a solution’”.

Erik weighs in:

“I agree with what Patricia said. I hadn’t had much contact with you before we set up the company cards, but that whole process went really smoothly. You’re definitely a great partner to work with”.
