We spoke with Business Partner Camilla Svahn and Payroll & HR Systems Specialist Camilla Holm about Skovik and the value the solution and the team behind it brings Camurus as they continue to grow.
Creating synergy
Camilla S came across Skovik when Camurus was looking to improve their expense handling, which had become too time-consuming. The challenge was to find a system that would work for all of their countries, and Skovik turned out to be the solution they had been looking for:
There was something about Skovik that really appealed to us. The conversation was great from the very beginning. I don’t remember there being many other options we seriously considered. It felt like the obvious choice
, she says.
Finally being able to house their many international subsidiaries in the same system has benefitted them in many ways: It definitely helps having everything in one place. It means we’re communicating the same way across all countries, which really simplifies things
, Camilla S explains.
Camilla H continues: If we had used different systems in each country, we would’ve missed out on a lot of this synergy, and that would have cost us time

, Camilla S agrees. We really like having one system. Our dream would be for all of our solutions to be set up this way

Receiving expert advice
Another thing that Camilla and Camilla find value in when it comes to Skovik is the support they receive from their customer success manager, Kerstin, and the rest of the team.
Whenever we have a question, big or small, we always get quick help. The support really is great
, says Camilla H.
And that’s not something you can take for granted
, Camilla S says. Having this kind of dialogue is something we really appreciate
.
Camilla H continues: If we say that we’d like something set up a certain way, the answer is usually not just yes or no. They might say ‘Yes, that’s possible, but you could also do it this way, or that way’. They’re not afraid to say what they think and it’s clear they’re invested in us having the best possible set-up
.
And Kerstin really has lots of great suggestions on how we can optimise things
, Camilla S says. She recalls that prior to their last customer success meeting, Kerstin had analysed their data and found that receipts under four pounds make up a significant amount of their total number of receipts. Based on this, Kerstin suggested that they could remove steps in their approval workflow for all, or a percentage of, receipts under this amount.
Kerstin had also found that many of their expense categories had barely ever been used, and suggested they could consider whether they wanted to keep them all, Camilla S recalls.
Advice like this really helps. In many cases, it’s about reducing admin time, and that often leads to better accuracy too, since it removes manual steps where human error might happen
, she says. Camilla H chimes in: It’s also about making the processes smoother, and skipping unnecessary steps

We’re Skovik users, but we’re not Skovik experts
, Camilla S continues. We don’t work that deeply with it. That’s why it’s so valuable having real Skovik experts who can see the bigger picture, in a way we can’t
.
Having room to grow
As Camurus has grown their business, their Skovik set-up has followed suit. It’s been super smooth, and the easiest part of growing as a company
, Camilla H says about adding new subsidiaries to their set-up.
Camilla S agrees: I barely remember the process of setting up our US subsidiary, that’s how quick it was I think. We’ve had great support from Kerstin, she more or less knows how we want things set up by now. It’s always a really smooth dialogue and there are never any issues
.
Camilla and Camilla are also used to how easy it is to add new users to Skovik. Since first implementing the system, Camurus has more than tripled its user count.
It’s kind of funny how rarely we get questions about Skovik
, says Camilla S. Even when it comes to new hires. It feels like they’re really quick at getting up to speed. It’s an easy-to-use and easy-to-understand system
, says Camilla H.
Camilla S continues: Yes, and we don’t have any monthly training or anything like that, it’s worked really well without it. That’s saving us time that we’re then able to spend on our more complex systems
.
When asked why they would recommend Skovik, they refer back to our conversation and the many benefits they’ve already listed. If they had to choose only three things though, it would come down to the ability to house multiple subsidiaries in the same system, the user-friendliness of the system for both end-users and admins, and the support they receive.
